ERGONOMICS SEMINAR SCHEDULE EXPANDED FOR 2010
For Immediate Release
Ann Arbor, MICH — Humantech, Inc. has just announced an expanded series of ergonomics seminars to be held throughout 2010. Health and safety professionals, engineers, facilities managers, and ergonomics committees can learn to maximize the benefits of an ergonomics program from Humantech's experienced, board certified ergonomists. The 2010 seminar schedule covers the popular topic of industrial ergonomics and adds a new Advanced Ergonomic Design Workshop. Seminars will be offered in Humantech's Ann Arbor corporate training center along with locations in the United States and the United Kingdom.
According to James Mallon, certified professional ergonomist and vice president of Humantech, "Our straightforward approach will arm participants with the knowledge and skills they need to target problem jobs and make immediate, simple, and effective improvements to their organization's workplace." As a result of these hands-on courses, participants will be able to apply tools and techniques to make an impact on their health and safety metrics through an effective ergonomics process that drives down risk, injuries, and cost. He added "The new Advanced Ergonomic Design Workshop gives participants the numbers, data points and know-how to design workstations, equipment and tools to match human capabilities and support a safe and productive workplace."
Applied Industrial Ergonomics will be held in Atlanta, Ann Arbor, London, UK, and Nashville. This two-day seminar focuses on practical approaches to improving problem jobs, increasing productivity, and reducing injuries in an industrial environment. Attendees will learn to evaluate workstations and equipment, identify factors contributing to work-related musculoskeletal disorders, and prioritize ergonomic improvements to maximize return on investment.
The Advanced Ergonomic Design Workshop, a new one-day seminar, to be held in Ann Arbor, goes beyond risk assessments and focuses on "designing out" the risk in the first place. Through unique group activities, participants will learn specific design guidelines for workstations, tools, controls and displays, and manual material handling; how to apply ergonomics criteria to equipment design using the design review process; and how to evaluate proposed and existing equipment for good ergonomic design. The workshop is offered in conjunction with the Applied Industrial Ergonomics seminar in Ann Arbor.
Complete course agendas and online registration are available on Humantech's website (www.humantech.com) or by calling the seminar coordinator at (734) 663-3330, ext. 222. Humantech's courses have been approved for ABIH CM points and meet the requirements for BCSP COC credits.
