HUMANTECH’S FIND IT – FIX IT CHALLENGE™ SHOWCASES LOW-COST WORKPLACE IMPROVEMENTS
Call for Entries in the Third Annual Ergonomic Improvement Contest
For Immediate Release
Ann Arbor, MICH — - Humantech announced today that it is sponsoring its third annual Find It – Fix It Challenge™, which recognizes and rewards simple and effective workplace solutions that result in increased productivity, improved worker morale, and fewer workplace injuries and illnesses. The contest, open to all Humantech clients, past or present, was derived from Humantech’s RAPID Team Events™, which are based on the concept of making quick, simple, visible changes to improve ergonomic issues in the workplace.
“During these tough economic times successful companies know the value of engaging their employees in developing and implanting simple cost-effective fixes to safety, quality, and productivity barriers” said James Mallon, vice president of Humantech. He added “Our Find It – Fix It Challenge gives us an opportunity to formally recognize the commitment and ingenuity of those individuals and organizations that have invested in improving their workplace.”
Organizations are asked to submit their best workplace improvement, highlighting the implementation of a creative, sustainable, and high-impact ergonomic solution. The contest will run from May 15, 2009 to September 15, 2009. New this year is an easy online entry form. Additional information can be downloaded from www.humantech.com/aboutus/findfix. Questions about the online application process or the challenge can be e-mailed to krobertson@humantech.com
Fifteen finalists will be selected by a panel of Certified Professional Ergonomists and Humantech staff members. From the field of finalists, two honorable mentions and one first place winner will be selected. The finalists will be notified in early November and winning photos and submissions will be posted on the Humantech Web site in early December.
In the 2008 Find it – Fix It Challenge, Gerdau Ameristeel's Charlotte, North Carolina facility received top honors for its Reline Ladle/Brick Chute improvement. Honorable mentions were given to Veyance Technologies, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin for its extrusion/mechanical winch and Genie Industries, Building Seven, Redmond, Washington for its Auto Cable Cutter.
